Banat Al-Riyadh (The Girls of Riyadh), is a novel by Saudi writer (dentistry student) named Rajaa Al-Sanea that tells the story about four girls from Riyadh (the capital of Saudi Arabia), and the everyday complications they have to go through, from the way society treats divorced women, to love matters, and the strong effect of culture on their daily decision-making.
The Girls of Riyadh, or Banat al-Riyadh, speaks openly of sex, lesbianism and young women's desire to lead freer lives.
The author, Rajaa Al-Sanea, is a 24-year old dentist from a conservative Saudi family.
